Jade

Year Three and Lower Key Stage 2

Hello, Jade class is taught by Miss Onyije and supported by Miss Rogers.

Our overarching topic this summer term is 'Creating a Better World'.

Our English topic will be based on three amazing books called Women in Science: 50 Fearless Pioneers Who Changed the World by Rachel Ignotofsky, Little People/Big Dreams Marie Curie by Isabel Sanchez and Lifecycles: Seed to Sunflower by Camilla de la Bedoyere. We also have more things planned for you to learn about, from Maths, Topic, Science, Art, RE and more.

Trips:

We have a trip planned for later this academic year.

National Science Museum - Thursday 23rd May 2024.

If you would like to volunteer for our trip, please contact me via the office. This trip has been loaded onto ParentPay to allow you to pay in instalments. Travel charges will not apply to any PPG students.

Gentle reminders:

Our PE days are Wednesday and Friday, so children are able to come into school on those days in their school PE kit.

Our spelling tests will take place every other Wednesday and children will receive their spellings alongside their homework every other Friday. It is to be returned every other Wednesday in preparation for their spelling test. Homework will be sent out through Atoms Prime and will be based on English and Maths. I have attached a link where you can access the webpage for the homework:

Smart Online Learning & Exam Preparation | Atom Learning

Please encourage your child/children to complete the homework.

We encourage children to read daily in school as well as at home. Once they have read with an adult, we would like a parent/carer to sign the reading log, to support this. Every child should read 5 times a day with an adult, according to the daily reader minutes on the reading log. Every child should bring their reading logs and books every Wednesday for Miss Onyije and for Miss Roger to check how many adult signatures you have and how many times each child has read.

Please ensure that your child comes to school every day with the following items:

A water bottle (as the weather is starting to get warmer)

Reading Book

Reading Log

Suitable footwear

If you have any questions, then please do not hesitate to contact me.
