Phonics - Read Write Inc.

From September 2022, we have implemented the Read Write Inc programme for teaching systematic, synthetic phonics to all of our children learning to read.

Read Write Inc. is a highly effective DfE validated phonics programme which allows us to group children by their individual reading ability. Small ability based groups allow children to develop their phonic knowledge, accuracy in word reading and fluency which includes using expression, intonation and improving comprehension skills at the appropriate level for them.

As a staff we have all received the relevant training from our Ruth Miskin consultant which means that as a staff we all have the necessary skills and knowledge to support our children's reading journey.
