Helping Hands

Miss Morris runs Helping Hands club on Wednesdays from 3:30 – 4:30.

At this club, children help to raise money, resources and provide events to support vulnerable groups including animals in need, the elderly and the disabled.

If your child would like to attend this club please speak to Miss Morris.

We are currently looking at helping animals in need.

Today the children have decorated donation boxes that will be used for collecting donations of animal food and blankets that people no longer want or need.

If you have any old blankets that you are willing to donate , please bring them to the office or Miss Morris in year 3.

Cake sale!

On Friday 31st March Helping Hands will be running a cake sale! This will take place in the hall during break time.  Cakes will cost between 20p - £1 and all money will go towards helping animals in need. Anyone who brings in cakes will be entered into a raffle to win an Easter egg or an Easter bunny.

The cake sale raised £162.74!

We are going to be splitting the money between two charities. Firstly , Canine Partners , who brought Kibble in to our Year 3 and Year 4 classes to teach them all about dogs that help people. We are going to use the money raised to sponsor a puppy with Canine partners through their training , so we can support a dog that will support someone in need.

The other charity is the  PDSA who came in for a whole day to deliver sessions to the whole school all about their work with animals , welfare needs and animals in war.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to our collection for animal food , treats , blankets and toys. Helping Hands have been so impressed with the donations and we are hoping to deliver the donations in the next few weeks.

Our donations were very well received by our local animal rescue center. Thank you to anyone who brought in donations.
