Welcome to Emerald Class!
Emerald class is taught by Mr Philbin and supported by Mrs Ciurba
PE days will be Tuesday and Friday - please come into school dressed in your school PE kit.
Emerald class enter school through the end door, nearest the gates. Your lockers are opposite Turquoise (the other year 4) class. Once you are ready for the classroom, walk away from the hall and we are the first classroom down the corridor. Look out for the Emerald Class sign on the door!
Reading: 5 times a week is the minimum school requirement. This needs to be recorded in your Reading Record and signed by a parent or carer ready to be collected on a Wednesday morning every week. If your child isn't reading at home or forgets their reading record and book then they will be expected to read in the library for a short period during their lunchtime.
Homework: there are three tasks to complete each week for homework. Homework is set on a Wednesday and must be submitted the following Wednesday. Children need to:
- Read 5 times a week (please see above).
- Times Tables Rockstars (complete 10 garage sessions a week and some studio sessions). Please communicate with your class teacher if the set times table is appropriate.
- Atom Learning weekly task (Maths and English tasks will alternate each week with one other subject).
If you need support with Times Tables Rockstars or Atom Learning, please share this with your class teacher. If children haven't completed their homework then they are expected to attend homework club on a Thursday lunchtime to complete their homework.
All children have their user name and passwords for Times Tables Rockstars and Atom Learning stuck into their reading log. If you require an extra copy of the details then ask your class teacher.
Each week Mr Philbin will post a riddle on the class page below. Answers can be written on a piece of paper and dropped into the Riddle Box in class. A winner will be drawn on Friday and will receive a prize.
Last week's winner: What kind of lion never roars? A dandelion. The winner is Nicholas
Riddle of the week: What needs to be broken before you can use it?
